Lots has continued to been said about the killing of these young men,the future of Nigeria whose life was cut short on allegation of stealing.
My worries about the whole saga,because i tried to picture scenes about the incident and I came with these thoughts :
1. Assumed the boys were accosted wherever they maybe on the fateful day,some questioning and accusations ensued,which led to arguments and threat to lives.The boys never knew what will eventually happen thereafter,playfully or nonchalantly brushed aside with waves of hands all allegation.Thinking within,that it was one of those brouhaha and been "big boys","nothing dey happen."
2.It dawn on them ,that something will happen so they put up some resistance and tried to prove their innocence but that was too late,already blows and beating had setting-multitude against FOUR,in the public court!
3.Before you say,O Lord!,the boys had been beaten thoroughly,now the reality had setting and the best option against these blood thirst accusers,was pleading.What an unfortunate act,because rather the pleading should perceived the accusers,it only infuriated them more.Now the whole community was aware,some thieves had been caught and JUNGLE JUSTICE in imminent!
4.The boys were stripped to NAKED!,made to walk around the whole community nakedly and shamelessly with no dignity,FOUR of them!Being led like sheep to the slaughter,God! Hapless and confused,in feared and praying silently,..."this should be a dream,O Lord,let us wake from this horrible dream"
5.Suddenly,from no where tires and all kind of materials for arson started appearing on the spot,yet the boys were in in prayers,pleading and exercising FAITH,hoping miracle might just happen.
But behold,the gods were busy with other state matters of national importance,since live is never value in Naija,more death had occurred and still counting,so what different will JUST four young souls make in a country,where communities were submerged with flood,where BOKO HARAM reign supreme,where road accident claims lives like chicken in a disease ridden poultry,where NO PADDY FOR JUNGLE and survival is now for who live to tell the story.
But in all these, my concerns are; where was other students or ALUTA has diminished? Can't anyone call the police even, if out of their inefficiency,something could still be done.Was there no elders in that community,or even,say a ruler?
Four at a go! haba,where was human sense of passion,reasoning,sympathy,love and kindness amongst the women of the community while all these were going?
I think the whole issue as it is witness in many cases in the country, is people are detached from civilization already,impoverished so much they have "poverty of brain and humanity",hungry lion,is always an angry lion.
Anything will happen in a place where the people are disillusioned,angry and hungry,waiting for who to vent their anger.The are frustrated,depressed and wild!
Idle hands,they say its the devil's work place,how true is this!
